Sketches: ‘Road to Glencullen’

'Road to Glencullen'

'Road to Glencullen'

Here is an example of a sketch which was done ‘loosely’. It had to be done quickly and accurately as possible if used on a final painting. I need notes beside the sketch to give me a ‘diary like’ memorandum as i go along. This is VITAL to me. As you can see at the bottom - it says : ‘cold’ and description of the sky, etc. I know there’s not as many notes here as some of my previous sketches , but it was SO cold and my hands/fingers we’re freezing, literately! This road caught my attention as i loved the sign post and the bunch of trees to the right along with the man-made stone wall - altogether, a lovely perspective for a painting in waiting.
